Installing an eSIM on Honor
Installing an eSIM takes about two minutes. Pick your phone brand below and follow the three parts: install the profile, set the APN if your plan needs one, and flip the right switches before you fly.

No eSIM option in Settings? Honor X-series models and part of the Magic Lite series do not support eSIM — contact us and we will swap the card for a profile for another phone.

Install
- Open Settings. Connect to Wi-Fi and keep the QR code from your order at hand — on a computer, a second phone or a printout.
- Choose Mobile network. It is near the top of the list, right under Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
- Choose SIM management. This is where Honor keeps every card — physical and eSIM.
- Tap eSIM. The eSIM entry sits under your current SIM — that one stays where it is.
- Tap Add eSIM. There is no plan in the list yet — the new one appears here once you scan the code.
- Choose Scan QR code. If the phone offers other ways to add a plan as well, pick the QR code.
- Scan the QR code from your order. Only have this one phone? Take a screenshot of the QR code, open it in Gallery and tap the Google Lens icon — the phone offers to add the eSIM.
- Name the plan and confirm. Type a name for the plan, e.g. Travel plan, and tap OK. Downloading the profile usually takes under a minute — stay on Wi-Fi until it finishes.
APN — Turkey
- Choose Access Point Names (APN). This chapter is for Turkey plans only — every other plan sets its APN by itself. The APN value is on your order page, next to the QR code. Path: Settings → Mobile network → Mobile data → your eSIM plan.
- Tap ⋮ → New APN. The ⋮ menu is in the top right corner. Choose New APN from it.
- Enter the APN and save. Type the APN value from your order into both Name and APN. Leave everything else as it is, then tap ⋮ → Save.
- Select the new APN. Pick the access point you just added — the filled dot means it is the one in use.
Settings
- Use the eSIM for mobile data. In SIM management the eSIM switch must be on, and Default mobile data must point at the eSIM. Calls and texts can stay on SIM 1.
- Turn off Auto data switching. At the bottom of SIM management. Left on, it lets the phone fall back to your home SIM — and that means roaming charges.
- Turn on Data roaming. Settings → Mobile network → Mobile data. Turn on Data roaming — a travel eSIM only ever works in roaming — and make sure mobile data itself is on too.
On arrival
- After landing: toggle airplane mode. The internet only starts working in the destination country. Once there, turn airplane mode on, wait 10 seconds and turn it off. Activation can take 5–15 minutes.
